What is inclusive, INCLUSIVE EDUCATION refers to a school system that is a reflection of society. It is essential that learners with differing abilities should be included in our classrooms. Segregation in any form is strongly discouraged and diversity is embraced.

Teachers are tasked to deliver the curriculum at a specific pace and level, but not all learners are able to progress at the required rate. This scenario poses a challenge, and teachers often lack the skills to assist those learners with barriers to learning

This course goes back to basics in an attempt to unpack some of the root causes of Barriers in Learning Languages e.g.,- How can a learner spell correctly if they are not hearing correctly? - Auditory Discrimination barriers. We explore the perceptual skills required for Language development. You will be provided with practical strategies to support those learners who experience barriers in language and perceptual skills development.

Topics:

  1. An overview of Language disorders and strategies to support the development of language
  2. Auditory perceptual skills and strategies to support auditory perceptual development
  3. Visual perceptual skills and strategies to support visual perceptual development
  4. Listening skills and strategies to develop listening
  5. Speaking skills and strategies to develop speaking
  6. Developing vocabulary skills

Although this course is self-paced, a facilitator will be provided to assist you with any queries or help you navigate the course.  Access to the facilitator is through the stream in Gooogle classroom.

To successfully complete the course you will need to complete both the pre and post-test.  Please note the timeframes in which to meet these requirements.
