About this Course

The course is aimed at principals and/or newly appointed principals from a full range of public schools.
The purpose of the interaction is to:
(i) inform the Principals as to the WCED's expectations of their professional role-responsibilities;
(ii) introduce possible new perspectives as to their professional functioning;
(iii) create the need to revisit present leadership and management practices;
(iv) provide guidance to re-construct present practices where necessary, especially within the "new
normal" pandemic context, and
(v) generate thought-processes that would result in an improved environment for quality-based
teaching and learning and institutional leadership.

The CTLI will endeavor to provide the participants with practical guidance on how a Principal is to
realise improved teaching and learning and institutional leadership practices at school level.
Emphasis is on planning and effecting a teaching and learning environment aligned with the current
