About this Course

The target group for this course is any teacher (Post level 1) aspiring towards school management and leadership positions. The focus of the course concentrates on Management vs Leadership and includes topics such as Ethical leadership, Job description of a Post Level 2 & 3 institutional manager. It further explores the scope of institutional skills and competencies befitting an aspiring institutional leader, instructional leadership, managing institutional teams and developing a professional résumé.

This course will run as a live interactive session from 18h00 - 19h00 online. Please refer to the Course Programme in the link provided.

Modules covered:

Module 1: Management vs leadership: The conundrum for an aspiring institutional leader

Module 2: Legal framework governing promotion posts in the WCED

Module 3: Ethical leadership: The non-negotiable imperative in unlocking human potential

Module 4: Instructional leadership: The primary responsibility of a new institutional leader

Module 5: The scope of institutional skills and competencies befitting an aspiring institutional leader

Module 6: Job description of a PL 2 & 3 institutional leader and manager

Module 7: Developing a professional resume
