What is inclusive education and what does it mean for teachers?
In essence, INCLUSIVE EDUCATION refers to a school system that is a reflection of society. It is essential that learners with differing abilities should be included in our classrooms. Segregation in any form is strongly discouraged and diversity is embraced.
This course has been designed to provide a holistic approach, ensuring you are well-versed in understanding the DCAPS and how to accomodate learners in the classroom.
This course will take place for 4 days over 4 weeks. Focussing on the following DCAPS_Electives
- Hospitality
- Woodwork
- Agicultural Studies
- Hairdressing and Nail Technology
This course will take place on a Thursday from 15:00 - 17:00
Lesson contents:
- 9 May 2024: How to create a Lesson Plan from the DCAPS
- 16 May 2024: How to differentiate in a Lesson Plan
- 23 May 2024: Guidance on the practicals in DCAPS
- 30 May 2024: Seeting up assessments within the DCAPS
Additionally, the course provides a variety of interactive activities for teachers, including the use of information, resources and communication technology (ICT) and support material
