Course Purpose

The aim of this workshop is to enable teachers to effectively use the technology provided to them via the Smart Classroom Initiative of the WCED. Teachers will be given an opportunity to engage with all the devices and to become comfortable with using them within their own context.

Course Content

Practical hands-on engagement with all the devices which form part of the Smart Classroom, followed by interaction with applicable software to create a lesson suitable for use in a Smart Classroom.

Course Outcomes

By the end of this workshop educators will be able to: 

• Connect a data projector wirelessly

• Connect a Mimio / e-Beam device

• Have an understanding of the basic operations of either a  Mimio/e-Beam device

• Do basic troubleshooting

• Create basic activities using the e-Beam/ Mimio Notebook software

• Have a basic understanding of the Visualizer and the possibilities it presents to a teacher

• Create and present a lesson implementing either the e-Beam or Mimio tool.
