About this Course

The emphasis is on empowering teachers with skills and knowledge to manage their classes effectively by making use of effective classroom management strategies. Good classroom management strategies , improves and ensures success for teaching and learning. Every class needs an effective manager who is able to manage the learning environment( the classroom)

Content to be covered:

Saturday 27 January: 8:00 till 13:00

Day 1:  Understanding brain development at different ages and stages in learners and how it impacts our classroom management as teachers

  • Codes of conduct for: schools, teachers, learners, disciplinary systems
  • Daily practices for effective classroom management 
  • Community of practice and how it impacts learner behaviour

Saturday 03 February: 8:00 till 13:00

Day 2:  

Positive Behaviour

This Module has been designed to provide you with the necessary knowledge, skills and practical strategies to meet the differing and often challenging behavioural situations you find in your classroom.

Main lesson topics:

  1. Foundations for Positive Behaviour 
  2. Transformative Interventions
  3. Restorative Discipline 

Roles and responsibilities of teachers within the classroom context

Values conversations

  • Bullying
  • Classroom rules
