About this Course

The course will demonstrate how geometric patterns and number patterns develop algebraic reasoning in learners in the primary school mathematics curriculum. It will make explicit how extending and describing patterns can help learners to form generalizations. The course will move from engaging and describing most basic , everyday shapes , which require simple description, to number patterns and their generalized rules. It will help teachers to realise the functional relationships which determine patterns.
