ICT Integration: Google Essentials (Online)
A 21st-century teacher understands the need to be fluent in the use of digital tools to successfully blend technology into teaching and learning. This is a 2-week self-paced course with online mentor support and webinars for practical demonstrations. Participants will use Google Classroom as a Learning Management System and all tasks will be submitted and assessed online.
This course will introduce teachers to Google Workplace Apps as tools to use in both virtual and traditional classroom spaces.
By the end of this course teachers will be able to:
- Set up a personal Google Drive to curate educational resources, as well as for classroom administration.
- Create and share curriculum resources for the classroom using the basic tools of Google Docs
- Create and share a presentation to use in the classroom using the basic tools of Google Slides
- Use the basic tools in Google Forms to gather information relevant to teaching and learning

Module 1: Google Drive for curation and sharing of classroom resources and classroom administration
Module 2: Content creation and collaboration using Google Docs
Module 3: Content creation and collaboration using Google Slides
Module 4: Google Forms as an instrument for information gathering
Course Assessment
Participants are expected to complete, submit and pass all tasks
All Module tasks must be completed and submitted by the end of the course date.
Participants will receive a certificate of completion only if all module tasks were submitted and passed
Participants need to receive at least 50% to pass a task
