Collaboration is listed as one of the essential 21st-century skills needed by today’s students- this to prepare them to work and collaborate meaningfully.
This course explores free digital tools that foster and encourage collaboration amongst not only learners but teachers too. It looks at how teachers can create and share collaborative activities with their learners.
Module 1: Digital Discussion tools
This module will introduce teachers to 2 tools (Padlet and AnswerGarden)which can be used to encourage and foster collaborative discussion; tools that are easy to share and access by learners. Teachers will learn how to create and share activities using these easy tools
Module 2: Collaborative work tools
This module looks at how digital tools such as Google Docs and Slides can be tailored to encourage learners to work together on a single project. This encourages learner collaboration, as well as critical thinking skills. Teachers too can benefit from using these tools collaboratively within a department or school.
Module 3: Assessment
Participants of this course will be expected to produce two different examples of classroom activities that encourage learners to work and think together.

Format: Online, self-paced over a week
ICT Skill level: Intermediate: Participants must be comfortable users of ICT. Not for you if your ICT digital skill levels are low
