Using video as an interactive, learner-centered tool in the classroom

Explore digital tools that will transform the static video watching process into an active learning experience for your learners.

This course explores at least two video creation tools; both aimed at transforming video usage in the classroom into an active process for learners

EdPuzzle – For Video Assessments

EdPuzzle is a free assessment-centered tool that allows teachers and students to create interactive online videos by embedding either open-ended or multiple-choice questions, audio notes, audio tracks, or comments on a video. Edpuzzle interactive videos can be made with videos from a number of websites, including YouTubeTEDVimeo, and National Geographic.

In this course, you will learn how to create Edpuzzle activities for your learners as formative assessments.

FlipGrid – Video engagement tool

This a basic introduction to the use of video as a tool to encourage student voice and interaction. Create exciting activities that will encourage learners to express and voice their understanding of concepts in a manner fully aligned with their interest in social expression. Engage and captivate your learners.

Target Group : Teachers: All phases; any subject

Format: Online

ICT Skill level: Intermediate: Participants must be comfortable users of ICT.

Not for you if your ICT skill levels are on a beginners level
